This photobook showcases Patti Smith's unique photographic vision, a monograph of her work published alongside her 2003 Tokyo exhibition, "Strange Messenger." Inspired by the events of 9/11, the collection features a blend of self-portraits, intimate photographs of personal items like Robert Mapplethorpe's slippers, and still life images, all captured through the lens of a 250 Polaroid Land camera. Comprising 35 photos, each piece is accompanied by titles or descriptions written in a facsimile of Smith's own handwriting, offering a poetic insight into her blurred and evocative imagery.
