Index gathers casting shot-like instant-film portraits of women by Iga Drobisz. Each sitter is photographed straight on or in profile, with names as the only identifier. The project takes cues from older passport and photo-booth imagery, keeping the emphasis on self-presentation and what can, and cannot, be read from a face. Text appears in Polish with an English translation. 

"The women are being themselves here, looking straight at us or showing us their profiles. We know about them as much as they themselves are willing to disclose. We look at them through the eyes of a young photographer, and they reciprocate this gaze with their look according to their own rules. In this formal simplicity and focus on women's faces lies the core of the female gaze, which we slowly managed to regain. This project is minimalist and strong in its expression, yet Iga simply calls it a documentation, without any ambition to create a sociological image of the era. It is a fragment of the women's world seen by a woman.” - Aleksy Wójtowicz
