Intermission 1 is composed predominantly of photographs of hotel curtains. The images repeat a single motif across different rooms and locations, shifting through light, fabric, and colour with minimal variation.

The book’s production is integral to how it’s read. Page are printed with a vinyl coating so that they stick together and must be peeled apart as you move through it, slowing the act of looking and reinforcing the sense of pause and temporary occupation that runs through the work.
