The Lusty Lady was a peep-show club in Seattle run by women, ex-dancers who knew the business from the inside. When Langley approached the management to ask if she could photograph the dancers, she was told she would first have to become one. She did. Over five years she worked as a dancer and photographed the women around her, moving beyond the booths and dressing rooms into their homes, their families, their daily lives. The book pairs photographs with extensive interviews, letting the subjects speak for themselves. Exhibited at the Seattle Art Museum, who acquired five prints for their permanent collection. Black and white throughout.
