Exhibition catalogue published on the occasion of Newton's show at Galerie Robert Vallois, Paris, 3 November 1994 to 15 January 1995. The exhibition comprised 26 prints in two groups: eleven large-format nudes from the Big Nudes series — photographed without artifice against plain white backgrounds, inspired by turn-of-the-century anthropometric and criminal investigation photography — and a further ten smaller prints titled Mutations, in which Newton re-photographed his own large-scale nude prints at distorted angles, contorting the bodies. The Mutations series was made at the suggestion of Newton's wife, June.
