960 pages of found photographs sourced from Flickr, Panoramio, Imgur and Photobucket, all uploaded by US and British soldiers and private security contractors during the invasion and occupation of Iraq. Sunsets behind blast walls. Palm trees framing armoured vehicles. Group shots in full kit. The banality of the images is the point. Galler does nothing to the photographs, offers no commentary, imposes no sequence beyond sheer accumulation. The book is small (16 x 21 cm) but absurdly thick, its physical weight an analogue for the volume of imagery produced and circulated during the conflict with almost no critical attention. Colour throughout.
