Nick Knight
Hardcover (blue velvet) | first edition | 162 pages
Published by Schirmer/Mosel, 1994.
Knight's first major monograph, covering fifteen years of work from the early 1980s onward. Bound in midnight-blue velvet — the design itself a collaboration with Peter Saville, who also devised the contracted title. Nakahara's biographical essay draws on interviews with Knight's friends and clients. The book spans from his early skinhead photographs through to fashion work for Yohji Yamamoto, Jil Sander and others, alongside editorial commissions for i-D, Arena and Vogue.
