Various Covered Automobiles is Takashi Homma’s visual take on Ed Ruscha’s word-painting aesthetic, this time using cars wrapped under tarps as the subject. Each image is austere and anonymous—same shapes, same dismissive charm. Only one break in the pattern: a car covered in snow.
No text, no framing. Homma has photographed wrapped vehicles parked outside or under shelters to highlight form, absence, and visual neutrality. One of at least nine Ruscha‑style homages in his practice.
